Wanted: Peerless Typewriter
The Peerless Typewriter was produced ca.1895 in Ithaca, New York at the Ithaca Gun Company's factory for the Peerless Typewriter Co. Ultimately, however the two businesses were really one and the same. Known Peerless examples are known with a black finish, a red finish and the earlies examples would have had nickel plated sides. The Paragon typewriter was the predecessor to the Peerless. It is fair to say that both the Paragon and Peerless were really nothing more than clones of the Smith-Premier.
