Wanted: Gerda Typewriter
The Gerda typewriter on this page is known as the No.2 model. Unlike it predecessor, the No.1 model, it lacks the braille index meant to assist blind typists. The Gerda was invented ca.1919 by Georg Emig of Berlin. It's been reported that the German government helped move this project along so that soldiers blinded during WWI would have a typewriter that they could use.
