Wanted: Eclipse Typewriter
The Eclipse typewriter was the predecessor to the Brooks. Its inventor, Byron A. Brooks, was a prolific typewriter designer. Just like the Brooks, the Eclipse was covered by patents dated to October 21, 1890, June 30, 1891 and November 24, 1891 and it was sold by the Brooks Typewriter Company of New York, NY. Its most striking feature is its rear-downstrike typebar arrangement which gives it its cathedral appearance.
