When talking about great inventors of typewriters, like Sholes, Blickensderfer or Wagner, one also has to mention Charles Spiro. Spiro developed this Columbia Typewriter, of which there were three different models (two are represented on this page). Spiro would later develop his most successful endeavor, the Bar-Lock typewriter. The Columbia was first produced in 1885 by the Columbia Typewriter Company of New York.
