Blickensderfer No.1 Typewriter

UNfound:

This was the Blickensderfer No.1 typewriter. It was invented ca.1891 by George Blickensderfer of Stamford, CT and produced by his firm, the Blickensderfer Mfg. Co., also of Stamford. The No.1 was a very ambitious model that was designed with several mechanical innovations new to a typewriter as small as it was. These innovations included automatic line spacing and automatic carriage return. To be fair, it should be stated that these weren't completely new, just new-to-smaller typewriters. An earlier but much larger typewriter, the Granville Automatic, had already possessed these features.

The No.1 Blickensderfer was sold for $100 alongside the No.5 model which had an initial price point of just $35.

The No.3 model is also currently undiscovered
