This clown statue was produced for Wm. Demuth & Co., Manufacturers, New York. The William Demuth company was a cigars and carved pipes distributor that also sold several advertising pieces, like this clown, through its mail order catalog. This fat clown, with a cigar in his mouth and several more in hand, wearing a red and yellow court jester's suit, was cast of zinc.
