How beautiful is this Williams? It's an early No.1 model with a curved keyboard, gold pinstripes and filigree. Later No.1's lacked all these embellishments. All Williams typewriters, not just the No.1's, are adored for their unique typebar arrangement. They were invented by John Newton Williams. Production was facilitated first by the Brady Mfg. Co. of Brooklyn, New York and then by the Domestic Sewing Machine Co. of Newark, New Jersey.
