The Victor was sold by the Victor Type Writer Company but its the Tilton Manufacturing Company of Boston, Massachusetts that was tasked with the actual production of the machine. It was invented by Arthur I. Jacobs who patented it in 1889. The Victor is credited as being the first ever typewriter produced with a daisy wheel type element, an innovation that was utilized in typewriter design well into the 1980s.
