The English Typewriter
The English typewriter was manufactured in London, England by The English Standard Type Writer, Limited, ca.1890. It was the collaborative effort of inventors Michal Hearn and Morgan Donne. The English boasts a curved, two-row keyboard, similar to a Hammond, and a downstrike typebar arrangement, like a Bar-Lock. It would have included a contoured metal cover and wood base at a cost of £18,18s.
