The Book Typewriter was invented by Seward Aymor Dean of Minneapolis, Minnesota, ca.1892. He may have exhibited the machine at a World's Fair and produced or marketed it in Rochester, New York. The Book Typewriter typed down onto the platen much like an Elliott-Hatch.
