Extremely rare Caligraph No.1 typewriter dated to ca.1882.
It may be another 10 years before another one of these comes to market in this condition!
Cosmetically, the typewriter is very good. It was well maintained probably cleaned. The paint and pinstripes look good but may also have been touched up. Nickel plating has lots of shine left. Overall, this example displays beautifully!
Functionally, the carriage advances and returns well so, at its most basic, it is a working example.
Again, this is an very good example of a very desirable, very rare typewriter.
