The Popular Typewriter seen on this page was offered ca.1906 for $5 by the McCarthy-Coffman Typewriter & Mfg. Co. of St. Louis, MO. To be fair, this is either just a domestic name variant of the Coffman typewriter, which was also produced in St. Louis and most likely in the same factory, or is a direct successor to the original Coffman of 1902. There was a also foreign variant available, predominately in French-speaking countries. named the "Populaire."
