The Phönix typewriter was invented ca.1908 by Władislaw Paciorkiewicz. It was produced first by Maschinenfabrik Merkur of Berlin, Germany as the Merkur then by Geselschaft für Apparaten-und Maschinenbau, also of Berlin, as the Phönix. Another name variant was the Sekretär. (Phönix Schreibmaschine, Znischenraun-Taste)
