Wanted: Neidich Ribbon Tester
This is a fun typewriter go-with! It was patented in 1915 by inventor Samuel A. Neidich as a "Machine for Testing Type Writer Ribbons." The user would cut a strip of ribbon, insert it into the machine between the type slugs and platen and then crank the handle. Each crank yielded a new line of the words "WORK WORK." It was a way to test how long a ribbon lasted before the ink dried out. Fun, right?
