The Michela was a stenographic typewriter made for taking shorthand dictation, It was patented in 1876 by Antonio Michela Zucco of Ivrea, Italy. Just like many early typewriters, the Michela had a keyboard that mimicked the black and white keys of a piano. (macchina per stenografia Michela)
