There were at least five different models produced of the Liliput typewriter (schreibmaschine). They included the Modell A, Modell B, Modell Duplex, Minima and Excelsior. Sometimes there were significant differences even within the same model, too. For example some Modell Bs may have had a wood base while others were of cast iron. The Gnom was a variant of the Modell B (it had a cast iron base). The Liliput was invented by Justin Wilhelm Bamberger, ca.1907, and produced by Deutsche Kleinmaschinen-Werke of Munich, Germany.
