This Liberty typewriter is really a Blickensderfer No.7 model  modified for the blind. It has raised bumps across the top rule to indicate by touch how far the carriage has traveled left or right as well as a divider down the center of the keyboard too indicate where the left and right hands' fingers should rest. The Liberty was produced by the Blickensderfer Typewriter Co. of Stamford, CT.​
