Keaton Music Typewriter
The Keaton Music Typewriter is one of the few modern typewriters that was built with a unique form and function. It was designed to type notes onto a sheet of paper that lay flat under it. The sheet would remain stationary while the typewriter itself hovered above. The Keaton had a circular, downstrike typebar arrangement similar to a Crary. Its inventor was Robert Homer Keaton of San Francisco, California. The Keaton Music Typewriter company produced the typewriter for about 20 years starting in the early 1950's.
