The Jackson typewriter was developed in Bridgeport, Connecticut but its actual production took place in Roxbury, Massachusetts by the Jackson Typewriter Company. The company's sales offices were in Boston. When the venture was failing, the company attempted to restructure back in Connecticut in the city of New Haven but without success. The Jackson was named after Joseph Jackson who hustled the typewriter into production.'
