The Gem Typewriter
The Gem Typewriter

UNfound:

"The Gem Type Writer" was invented by Herbert T. Baird and produced by the Gem Type-Writer Company of Detroit, Michigan, ca.1899. It was reported that the Postmaster General shut down the Gem typewriter operation because the company was using the U.S. mail service to solicit and sell its inferior 50¢ typewriters that the company claimed were as good as its $100 competitors.
