The Garbell Portable Typewriter was invented ca,1918 by Max Garbell. It was produced first by the Garbell Typewriter Company, Inc. and later by the Garbell Typewriter Corporation. All sales were handled by the Garbell Sales Corporation. Each of the companies was located in Chicago, IL. There were two models advertised: a No.1, which most likely never left the developmental stage, and a No.3 like the one on this page.
