The "Finger Spreading Device" seen here was invented ca.1916 by Richard James Pitcher of London, England. It was awarded U.K. patent no.3870/15 and U.S. patent no.1174275. This device is basically a crude exercise machine intended for use by pianists, cellists, typists or any other individual in need of limber fingers.
I'm interested in this and any other similar device. The more ludicrous, the more I'm interested.
