The Commodore Book Typewriter surfaced in old ads in the Houston, Texas area ca.1897 and it was offered by The Commodore Typewriter Company. Its inventor is unknown. Though unsubstantiated, the Commodore appears to have been a poor man's version of another, more significant book typewriter, the Crary.
