These Land Skates, a.k.a Road Skates, were invented ca.1917 by Charles H. Clark of New York. They were simply the next iteration of skates that had already been invented during the previous century, like the Ritter Road Skates 1898. Clark's Land Skates were powered by the user while others may have been powered by small, gas motors. Either way, these Clarks interest me, as well as any other road skates.
