The Chelsea pencil sharpener was manufactured ca.1901 by the Chelsea Manufacturing Company of 200 Main Street, Chelsea, Michigan. Identifying insignia includes the term "Pat Ap'd For." It was advertised with a $2 price tag. The Chelsea may also have been manufactured by the American News Company. A name variant of the sharpener may have been labeled as the Standard Pencil Sharpener.
