Canadian Oliver Typewriter

Wanted: The Canadian Oliver Typewriter

Though most Oliver typewriters were manufactured in the US, versions of the machine were also the product of the Linotype Company of Montreal, Quebec in Canada for the Canadian Oliver Typewriter Company. It should be noted that he two organizations were actually one and the same. And though the typewriters that were licensed from the US-based Oliver company were already fully-working, fully-patented machines, there were some attributes developed for the Canadian Olivers by Linotype that were unique enough to warrant their own patents, such as Canadian patent no.49,711 issued on August 21, 1895. The Canadian Oliver Typewriter Co. only produced model Nos.2 & 3 before ceasing operation.
