Wanted: Caligraph No.1 Typewriter
The Caligraph was just the second ever commercially successful typewriter produced, the first having been the Sholes & Glidden. Officially it was called the Caligraph Writing Machine which was produced by the American Writing Machine Company of New York. What distinguished the No.1, model, like the example on this page, from later Caligraphs was its smaller size and smaller keyboard which typed only uppercase characters. Most No1's were painted black though at least one known example was nickel plated so there may be others.
