What's not to love about this guy? It's most frequently referred to as the "Buddha" Magic Lantern though, at times, also as the Chinese Man or China-Man Magic Lantern. Monikers aside, it's a really great piece. It was made ca.1875 in France by Louis Aubert of pressed tin. Markings could include "Brevete SGDG." Depending on which version you have, it may be found in green or brown and with a door at the rear or without.
