The Boston Polar Cub pencil sharpener was an electric model with a glass cover that allowed it to be marketed as "dustless." The sharpener made by the C. Howard Hunt Pen Company of Camden, New Jersey while the electric motor itself was a product of the A. C. Gilbert Company of New Haven, Connecticut. Boston Polar Cub sharpeners were available ca.1936 which, as far as pencil sharpeners go, they are fairly modern.
