The Bennington Word Typewriter invented by Wesley H. Bennington of Kansas City, MO, ca.1903. Later production may have taken place in Ohio ca.1907 by the Bennington Typewriter Company. By all accounts, the Xcel was most likely the predecessor to the Bennington.
