The hand massager seen here was invented ca.1917. I don't know by whom or where, but I want it. The apparatus was invented to "exercise the crippled fingers of wounded soldier," as would a masseur but with a "tireless patience." To me, it looks like nothing more than a series of padded clamps that, maybe, erroneously were thought to be able to straighten mangled appendages.
