Sterling Automobile

Wanted:

Sterling

Roadster

This roadster was developed by Charles Ams and had a retail price of $550. It was produced ca.1916 by the Sterling Auto Manufacturing Company at a factory in Amston, Connecticut. The rather small factory on Rt.85 still stands but it barely gets a look from people that speed by. The Sterling, and its history, are all but forgotten by most folks. In 1919 the company began the process of filing for bankruptcy. I know this isn't what I generally collect (typewriters) but The Sterling was made here in Connecticut, which is why I'm partial to it.
